1. Our Core Privacy Principle
Talyx is built to give you complete control over your data. All AI classification runs locally on your device using open-source models. Your files never leave your machine for AI processing — no cloud APIs, no server-side analysis, no exceptions.
2. Information the App Collects
2.1 Files and Documents
All files (documents, images, videos): Classified entirely on your device using local AI models (node-llama-cpp and ONNX Runtime). No file content, metadata, thumbnails, or text extractions are ever sent to any server. Classification is 100% offline after the initial model download.
2.2 AI Model Downloads
On first setup, Talyx downloads open-source AI models (~2GB total) from HuggingFace. This is a one-time download over HTTPS. After download, all AI classification runs fully offline with no network requests. The models downloaded are open-source and include: Qwen2.5 (text classification), SmolVLM (image/video vision), Florence-2 (OCR), and GLiNER (named entity recognition).
2.3 AI Processing via MCP
Talyx also operates as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. When connected to an external AI assistant (Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor), file metadata and content signals are sent to that AI provider according to their privacy policy.
2.4 App Settings
Settings (theme, sort mode, language, AI preferences) are stored locally on your device. We have no access to these settings.
2.5 License Information
If you purchase a license, we store: your email address, license key ID, and device fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash of hardware identifiers — not your MAC address or serial number directly). This data is stored on our license server for activation management.
2.6 Trial Verification
When you start a trial, we record a device fingerprint on our server to prevent trial abuse. No personal information is collected during the trial.
3. Website
Our website uses Vercel Analytics — a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.
4. Contact Form
If you contact us via the website, we store: your name, email, subject, and message. This is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
