Privacy Policy

1. Our Core Privacy Principle

Talyx is built to give you control over your data. Documents are classified locally using your own AI subscription — they never touch our servers. Image and video thumbnails are processed through our secure server only when you use vision credits, and are immediately discarded after classification.


2. Information the App Collects

2.1 Files and Documents

Documents (PDFs, DOCX, spreadsheets, text files): Classified locally on your device through the Claude Code SDK. File content is sent directly from your device to Anthropic (your AI provider) — it does not pass through Talyx servers. When using Smart Local mode, no data leaves your device at all.

2.2 Image and Video Thumbnails (Vision Credits)

When you use vision credits or the Talyx AI subscription to classify images and videos:

  • What is sent: A resized thumbnail (maximum 512px, JPEG format, typically 30-80KB) of each image or a single frame from each video.
  • Where it goes: Your device → Talyx server (Railway, EU/US) → Anthropic Claude API → Talyx server → your device.
  • What we store: Nothing. Thumbnails are processed in memory and immediately discarded. We do not log, cache, or retain any image data.
  • What Anthropic stores: Subject to Anthropic's API privacy policy. Anthropic does not use API data for training.

2.3 AI Processing via MCP

Talyx also operates as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. When connected to an external AI assistant (Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor), file metadata and content signals are sent to that AI provider according to their privacy policy.

2.4 App Settings

Settings (theme, sort mode, language, AI preferences) are stored locally on your device. We have no access to these settings.

2.5 License Information

If you purchase a license, we store: your email address, license key ID, and device fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash of hardware identifiers — not your MAC address or serial number directly). This data is stored on our license server for activation management.

2.6 Vision Credit Balance

We track your vision credit balance (number of credits remaining, total credits used) on our server, linked to your license ID. No file data is associated with credit transactions.

2.7 Trial Verification

When you start a trial, we record a device fingerprint on our server to prevent trial abuse. No personal information is collected during the trial. Trial accounts receive 50 complimentary vision credits.


3. Talyx AI Subscription

If you subscribe to Talyx AI ($9/month), all AI classification — including documents — is processed through our server. The same privacy principles apply: content is forwarded to Anthropic for classification and is not stored on our server.


4. Website

Our website uses Vercel Analytics — a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.


5. Contact Form

If you contact us via the website, we store: your name, email, subject, and message. This is used solely to respond to your inquiry.


6. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy

Subscription management (Talyx AI) is handled through Stripe's customer portal.
